Anti-Racism: Think Local

This event commemorates the historical and ongoing Black struggle for Liberation and Justice, and highlights African American elders, alumni, and students, celebrating African-American history, music, cultural resistance, and resilience.

Video recordings and resources are available from the past two summit events which took place in 2020 and 2019. Topics discussed at the event will assist attendees in creating action steps for moving towards a more inclusive and equitable culture.

Olympia Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) is part of a national multi-racial network mobilizing & organizing white people within a multi-racial movement for racial justice. Our chapter is multi-racial in membership; all are welcome!

SURJ is a national network of groups and individuals working to undermine white supremacy and to work for racial justice. Through community organizing, mobilizing, and education, SURJ moves white people to act as part of a multi-racial majority for justice with passion and accountability.

Washington CAN’s vision is to be one of the nation’s most effective economic and racial justice organizations, building a movement of people whose collective action ensures that all communities are healthy, prosperous, and have an equal voice in determining their future. Our mission is to achieve racial, gender, economic, and social equity in order to establish a democratic society characterized by justice and fairness, with respect for diversity, and a decent quality of life for all those who reside in Washington.

Economics for Everyone is a group based in Olympia, Washington that seeks to address issues of economic literacy through free educational workshops and presentations relating to current events and ongoing struggles. Economics for Everyone creates a community learning space through regular public events and discussions. Economics for Everyone aims to create a public dialogue on inequality and the crises of capitalism. Issues of specific importance to the group include examinations of power relations under capitalism, which include but are not limited to racism, sexism, heterosexism, and climate change.

La Resistencia is a grassroots organization based in Washington State working to end the detention of immigrants and stop deportations.

Olympia Assembly advocates a radical vision for our town – one which includes an emphasis on direct democracy and city governance by the people themselves, as well as cooperation among our neighbors to meet our needs when the established system fails us. We assert the right of all members of our community to freely access the necessities of life, ranging from food, water, and shelter to the need for a healthy environment and social atmosphere. We assert further the right of people to make this vision a reality.
