Library of Things

This guide introduces users to the capabilities of Chromebooks and other "things" that are available for checkout from the library.

External DVD/CD Drives

These drives plug in via standard USB and may be used to read/play DVDs and CDs. They may also be used to write content / burn info onto blank discs.

These drives work with PC and Mac computers but do NOT work with Chromebooks.

Instructions for playing CDs and DVDs:

  1. Attach the portable player to your device using the included USB cord.
  2. Press the eject button on the player.
  3. Insert the disc to play inside the player and close it.
  4. The disc should begin playing in your default media player, or you will see the disc Main Menu.
  5. Use of the included software disc is optional, but may be useful if you don’t have a media player installed or want to utilize the disc burning functionality.
