Fall Into the Library

Welcome to a beautiful (so far) fall quarter at Evergreen. Whether you are a new or returning student, we hope you’ll spend some time this quarter exploring library spaces, using library resources, and availing yourself to our friendly, helpful staff who are working hard to make sure you have the tools and services that you need to succeed as an Evergreen student!

You’ll get these emails from us, twice per quarter, reminding you that we’re here and letting you know about resources, services, exhibits, and events that you won’t want to miss.

Did you know?

We make an effort to purchase all required course materials for all courses. Some of these are in print, some in electronic formats. We can also (often) find print copies from other libraries that check out for the whole quarter; just come in and ask.
Our collection of tabletop games, including board games, story games, and RPGs continues to grow with over 600 titles available to check out. Games check out for a week but can be renewed as many times as you like.
Something you think we should have that isn’t already in our collection? Use our Purchase Request Form to let us know and, most of the time, we’ll buy it!

Rare Books Display: Evergreen Creative Community

The James F. Holly Rare Books Room is excited to showcase work by former students and faculty. This display includes artist books, poetry collections, and broadsides chosen and arranged by student staff. Come take a look at work by Joe Feddersen, Alex McCarty, Zhang Er, Kirby Stanton, Nikki McClure, Bill Ransom, and Leonard Schwartz. Admire student work printed by the Penny Press, E. Lloyd Young, Elise Caddy, Grace Johnson, Selena Kearney, and Rachel Bliven.
Each of the featured authors and book artists in this display played a unique role in the culture of Evergreen. Collecting and conserving those voices is a primary goal and function of the Rare Book Room, and we hope these voices will inspire you in your own creative and artistic endeavors.
We did not have enough room in our display cases for every Evergreen creative, and we would love to show you more of our favorites on the shelves. Need a closer look at items on display? Ask a Rare Books Room staff member to open the cases so you can handle the materials.
