This time of year we’re busy helping students with their end-of-quarter research, buying course materials for your Spring Quarter programs and courses, and planning fun events. Hot tip! Your library items are due back on March 24. Return them before they are due, or you can renew them online or by giving us a call!

Science Stories Exhibit | Last Chance!

During Library open hours through Friday, March 24. Science Stories is a unique project that brings together Pacific Northwest scientists and book artists to create engaging and unique artists’ books that offer new ways to interpret science and to tell a story. If you haven’t been over to check it out yet, your time is running out! Evergreen is the final stop for the exhibit, so it really is now or never. Come by any time the library is open or schedule a visit for yourself or a class/group.

Science Stories Artist Talks

Thursday, March 16 from 2pm-3:30pm via Zoom. Join us as we talk to Ellen Sollod and Jessica Spring about their approach to book arts and how they came to be involved in the Science Stories Exhibit. Link to more information.

Writers’ Open Mic

Friday, March 17, 4:00 – 6:00pm in the Library Underground. Come one, come all to our quarterly Writers' Open Mic Night hosted by The Evergreen Library and Writing Center. This in-person event will be an entirely open mic with no scheduled performers. Show up early to sign in and perform your poetry, music, storytelling, comedy, performance art, or anything you have written.

The Brian Hoffman Show featuring Sasquatch

Saturday, March 18. Two showings: 12-1pm & 4-5pm. Live with a studio audience in the Evan’s Hall TV Studio or watch on the live stream! The Media Interns of the Evergreen Media Internship are excited to present their Winter Collaborative project: The Brian Hoffman Show, featuring Grimley the Sasquatch, created by Aaron Ball, John Christiansen, and Jasper Merrill.

An in-person/live broadcasted performance about a former mascot actor who tries to clear his name, but an evil talk show host has other plans. This production includes live video, actors, artwork, and music.

Library + Arbutus Acoustic Music Open Mic

Thursday, April 13, 5:30 – 7:30pm in COM 110. The library is pleased to partner with local non-profit organization, Arbutus Folk School, to host this monthly acoustic music open mic event. Musicians at all levels are welcome! Performers may play original songs or covers, up to 2 songs or 10 minutes per performer. Find out more and sign up to play on the Arbutus Open Mic page.
