Public Transportation

Intercity Transit

Main public transportation system for Olympia and surrounding area. Bus fare is completely free, only bus fares are for buses leaving the Thurston County area (Mason, Pierce, Lewis counties). Serves Olympia, Lacey, Nisqually, Tumwater, and Yelm. Routes serve major worksites, medical facilities, shopping centers and schools. Connects to Grays Harbor Transit, King County Metro, Mason Transit, Pierce Transit, Sound Transit.

Direct connections out of Downtown Olympia to Sea-Tac Airport, Seattle, Tacoma, Spokane, Portland, Ellensburg WA, Moses Lake WA, Corvallis OR, Eugene OR, Salem OR as of 10/2021. Low-cost -- buses to Seattle typically cost under $15, while Spokane, Portland, etc bus trips range from $15 to $35.

For assistance with route planning, route deviation (allowed by up to ¾ of a mile) or questions about buses and schedules, call 1-253-472-7846 M-F 9a-3p.
Serves the communities of Rochester, Tenino, Bucoda, and Rainier, and the Confederated Tribes of the Chehalis Reservation. Connects to Intercity Transit in Tumwater on Routes 2 and 3, and to Centralia/Chehalis’s Twin Transit systems on Routes 3 and 4. All rides are free and all buses operate from 6a-6p.

Evergreen Routes

Evergreen is served by Intercity Transit routes 41 and 48. Route 41 can be accessed at the Student Housing bus loop (near A buildings, diagonal from F Lot) and Library/Red Square bus loop, and Route 48 can only be accessed at the Library/Red Square bus loop.
